Dossena exit imminent

Liverpool defender Andrea Dossena looks almost certain to be leaving the club when the January transfer window opens after his agent advised the Reds to sell the Italian international.

Doessena, 28, has failed to make a consistent breakthrough to the first team since arriving at Anfield from Udinese for £7million, making just 17 appearances for the club.

Now his agent, Roberto La Floria, says it is more likely that Napoli will agree a transfer fee for the left-back after their failed attempt to sign him in the summer.

Floria told Italian radio station Radio Kiss Kiss, “The negotiations in August were real, but the problem was not only the salary.

“Liverpool, in fact, didn’t give us the green light to deal with Napoli. The two clubs were not finally agreed.

“What about January? He has played less this year and it is clear that Liverpool have to move him. If Napoli want Dossena, they know how.”
