Emiliano Insua’s proposed move to Fiorentina could fall through due to his wage demands, the Italian side have hinted.
Liverpool agreed a transfer fee with the Serie A outfit last week, and Insua was expected to finalise the move this week.
A spokesman for Fiorentina said, “We have an agreement with the English club, but we have to find an understanding with the player in terms of wages.
“We cannot guarantee him the figures that he gets at Liverpool.”
The Reds meanwhile are on the look-out for a new left-back with several names being linked with moves to Anfield.
