Konchesky sent on loan to Forest

Paul Konchesky has been sent out on loan to Nottingham Forest until the end of the season.

In what promises to be a frantic day of transfer activity in, out and around Anfield, Konchesky has left Merseyside after a torrid first five months at the club.

Konchesky did not play for Liverpool since Kenny Dalglish took over from Roy Hodgson earlier this month.

Konchesky’s departure opens the floodgates for rumours surrounding potential left-backs joining the club today. Fabio Aurelio remains a good choice at left-back, but his injury problems continue. Right-back Glen Johnson has recently been filling in at left-back.

Defender Daniel Ayala has also left the club on loan until the end of the season – to Derby County.
