No permanent deal for Dalglish – yet

Liverpool owner John Henry has denied reports that the club have offered Kenny Dalglish a permanent role at the club, saying he and the Scottish caretaker boss are yet to sit down and discuss the future.

Dalglish however remains the favourite to become the next permanent boss of Liverpool, expected to give new Head Coach Steve Clarke a permanent deal.

However, Henry says no deal is on the table just yet and the situation is likely to be reassessed at the end of the season.

He said, “The only discussion we’ve had has been with Kenny and that was solely concerning when we should begin discussions.

“I wouldn’t anticipate any further comments until such discussions have commenced and we have something to announce.

“Any reports until then are purely speculation.”
