Poulsen set for return home?

Out of favour Liverpool midfielder Christian Poulsen could be set for a return to Denmark this summer, ending his dissapointing Anfield career.

The 31-year-old was brought in by former manager Roy Hodgson last summer, but the Danish international captain has failed to hold down a first team place under either Hodgson or caretaker boss Kenny Dalglish.

He has now been linked with a move to FC Copenhagen when the transfer window reopens in July, however it is unlikely Liverpool are to recoup much of the £5million paid to Juventus for his servbices last year.

Poulsen’s international career is now at threat unless he secures regular first team football, with Denmark coach Morten Olsen recently warning, “I don’t know if he is going to get in the Liverpool team during the remainder of this season, but if he isn’t, he will not be in my squad for the Euro qualifying game against Iceland on June 4.”

Good luck, Christian.
