Brazilian defender Douglas Franco Teixeira, known simply as Douglas, is the latest name to be linked with a move to Liverpool this summer.
The 25 year-old currently plays for Dutch side FC Twente but is out of contract at the end of the season.
It’s going to be a busy Summer ahead if the latest Liverpool transfer rumours are anything to go by and Brendan Rodgers needs at least two centre backs this summer. Jamie Carragher is retiring, Sebastian Coates is expected to leave, and Martin Skrtel is out of favour and available at the right price.
The Daily Mail report:
He [Rodgers] is a fan of Swansea’s Ashley Williams and Tottenham‘s Steven Caulker but their valuations are high. Liverpool have also watched Stefan de Vrij at Feyenoord and Sevilla’s Federico Fazio.
Douglas has yet to represent the Brazilian national side and is now eligible to play for Holland instead, he was called up to their squad in October last year.
Another centre back linked with a move to Anfield recently is Sporting Lisbon’s Tiago Ilori.
