Jurgen Klopp described City as “still the best in the world” in his pre-match press conference, and they certainly do have more pedigree in terms of title wins in recent years.
But this season Liverpool are a genuine force, and after getting “rid of the ‘backpack’” by reaching the Champions League final last year, there is clear belief within the squad that they can go all the way on the domestic stage.
