Liverpool fan despondent after “poor” performance at Newcastle

YouTube channel The Redmen TV are amongst a number of fans who have been left feeling deflated after Liverpool’s unconvincing 1-0 defeat at Newcastle Utd on Saturday.

Pérez Gutiérrez’s 73rd minute strike from close range subjected Brendan Rodgers’ side to their fourth defeat of the Premier League campaign, leaving the Reds seventh on Saturday evening.

Presenter Paul Machin told viewers, “I can’t think of a more average performance, in fact ‘average’ is probably giving it far too much credit. It was just poor all round.

“People talk about desire and commitment, but tactically they looked wrong and at no point during that game did it look right. We never looked on top.

Newcastle didn’t do a great deal to threaten us until the second-half, but they got a little bit more joy and it’s another weak goal to concede.

“I’ve no idea what [Alberto] Moreno was doing there!”
