Lazar Markovic also starts, replacing Alberto Moreno and possibly will start from left-wing back where he played for the last 20 minutes at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Toure replaces the injured Glen Johnson, who is out until the New Year with a groin injury.

Lucas Leiva starts in place of Joe Allen in midfield alongside Steven Gerrard.

Fabio Borini is named on the bench, finally, along with Rickie Lambert. Mario Balotelli didn’t travel with the squad due to his groin injury.

Raheem Sterling starts his ninth game in a row, starting up front, assisted by Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho. Sterling has featured in every Liverpool game this season except the last League Cup tie, vs Swansea.
