Aquilani set for Reserves action

Liverpool’s £18million summer signing Alberto Aquilani could be finally set for his first piece of action In a Reds shirt when the Reserves take on Sunderland Reserves on Wednesday night.

Aquilani is yet to kick a ball for the Reds after signing for the club from Roma with a long-term ankle problem.

But after beginning training with the rest of the first team squad over the last week, the Italian could now be set to take to the field.

Should Aquilani’s return for the Reserves tomorrow prove successful, he could make his first team debut in the forthcoming Carling Cup tie at Arsenal on October 28th.

Liverpool Reserves vs Sunderland Reserves kicks off at 7pm at Tranmere’s Prenton Park tomorrow (Wednesday).
