The Liverpool rumour mill has seen some speculative suggestions this week with reports that Brendan Rodgers is looking at signing a high profile player or two on loan this season.

If you followed the gossip on twitter you’ll have heard the names of David Villa, Kaka and Emanuel Adebayor ‘linked’ with LFC.

But Rodgers now has admitted the club are exploring loan options, he told The Mirror;

“There is nothing imminent, and it may take one or two moves [elsewhere] to spark everything off.

“I want players in sooner rather than later – it is important to get the group together as quickly as possible.

“But if not, then I’d be happy as long as we have some in before the end of August.

“I have also looked at one or two loan deals from abroad. There are some quality players in that market that I have enquired about.

“The make-up of the group will change before the season starts and that will change the dynamic of the team also.”

We believe that one of the players Rodgers is interested in is Nuri Sahin, the Turkish midfielder at Real Madrid who is also wanted by Arsenal.

Liverpool should tie up the deal for Swansea midfielder Joe Allen within the next week.
