LFC Flags
By Carl Ashton
We as Liverpool fans know that when it comes to flags and banners, we take some topping. Back int he day when that famous ‘Joey ate the frogs legs’ banner popped up in Rome, or in Porto in 2001 a blue sheet with the words ‘Goodison Park – Closed due to Foot and Mouth’, or that ‘ Welcome to Hell my Arse’ number to answer the Galatasaray fans.
These are some of the reasons which make Liverpool FC fans so special. I have always enjoyed seeing the great flags and banners, and I have always appreciated the humour and wit that has gone into the making of it.
I started by messing about on my PC, making wallpapers for my old Sony Ericsson phone, and the odd LFC fan would see it and ask me to bluetooth it to them. I then started posting a few bits and pieces to my facebook page when we were playing against certain teams. But Only recently, I started a twitter account called @LFCFlags, which really took off! I picked up about 1000 followers very quickly.
I hope that you all enjoy the flags I have designed, and also if you are a flag holder and you see a replication of your flag, its not been stolen, I have merely copied it because it’s great and I like it.
Also, if you are flag holder, we are going to be running a section on the great banners and flags – so please get in touch!!
If you are thinking of getting a flag made, then please contact me via twitter, as I can help with design etc.
