Line-up vs Tottenham

Steven Gerrard has passed a late fitness test and starts today’s first game of the new Premier League season at White Hart Lane.

Liverpool take on Tottenham in the weekend’s final league fixture, with title rivals Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester Utd all opening their campaigns with victories.

Jamie Carragher and Martin Skrtel have also recovered from injuries to start today and Glen Johnson will make his full debut for the Reds at right-back.

Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Insua, Kuyt, Mascherano, Lucas, Babel, Gerrard, Torres.

Subs: Cavalieri, Voronin, Benayoun, Spearing, Kelly, Dossena, Ayala.

Kick-off is at 4pm (UK).
