“It was for sure our best home game (since I arrived). The best word that I can say to describe this is ‘boom’!
“‘Wooohh’ what was this?! It was really good!”
Klopp was clearly delighted with his side’s work ethic and hunger after the League Cup final defeat to City three days earlier.
“It showed us what these boys are capable of and from the first second it was a really good performance,” he said.
The boss has urged his players to produce this kind of performance more consistently now, with the Reds six points behind both City and Man United.
Liverpool travel to bogey side Crystal Palace on Sunday, a team who haven’t won in 2016, knowing they must push on after this performance and ahead of Man United‘s visit to Anfield in the first leg of the Europa League last-16.
