Lyon to seek Cisse Transfer

Reports in France claim Lyon will shortly seek to open talks with Liverpool about the possibility of signing wantaway striker Djibril Cisse.

Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas told French newspaper Le Progres he was delighted to hear that Cisse is keen on a move to the French champions.

‘When a player wants to come to Lyon, we love the fact that he declares it,’ he said.

Cisse spoke once again of his desire to return to French football and ideally he would welcome the opportunity to play under Lyon coach Gerard Houllier.

‘I have never had the chance to work with Mr Houllier, it would be a pleasure, I respect him a lot you know,’ said Cisse.

‘He recruited me at Liverpool, not Benitez, but then he left the club.’
