Reserves beat Mancs as Agger returns

LFC Reserves 2-0 Man United Reserves

Daniel Agger made his long awaited return to action after 5 months out with a metatarsal injury as Liverpool reserves defeated Man United reserves 2-0 in Warrington on Tuesday night.

An early penatly from man of the match Xabi Alonso and a late goal from winger Harry Kewell gave Gary Ablett’s side a 2-0 win over a team featuring the much-loved Gary Neville.

Agger played the opening 45 minutes and looked composed and tidy alongside Mike San Jose in the centre of defence, with Martin Skrtel also returning from injury to play the second 45.

A crowd of over 10,000 were impressed by Alonso in the middle as he controlled the game and Reds’ Australian goalkeeper Dean Bouzanis – who Rafa Benitez is said to rate as the best under-20 keeper in the world.
