Liverpool appear to have picked up some impressive form of late and now face Premier League struglers Newcastle United, who sit just three points above the relegation zone and are yet to secure a victory under new manager, former Reds legend Kevin Keegan.
Wednesday night’s 4-0 thrashing of West Ham at Anfield will surely give the Reds a big confidence going into this one, although mid-week hat-trick hero Fernando Torres could be rested with the forthcoming Inter Milan Champions League game in Rafael Benitez’s mind.
Daniel Agger is rated as doubtful, but could return from long term injury. Andriy Voronin remains sidelined.
Victory for Liverpool could see them move to just two points behind third place Chelsea, who face FA Cup action against Barnsley this weekend.
