Liverpool won The FA Youth Cup for the first time in ten years in 2006, emulating the class of Owen and Carragher, but how many players from this squad are still at Liverpool and where have the rest of the Youth Cup winning players ended up now…

David RobertsDavid Roberts
Position: Goalkeeper
Date of birth: 10/12/88
A strong willed keeper from the Wirral, Dave was a highly promising custodian and one of the lynchpins of his age group. His form that season had been impressive especially in the Youth Cup in 2006 where his heroics in the semi-final penalty shoot-out played a major part in the Reds reaching the final.
Roberts was released from the club in June 2007. He signed for Bangor City three months later, before joining Weymouth on January 4, 2008.

Position: Goalkeeper
Date of birth: 5/8/89
Son of former Everton and Tottenham keeper Bobby, like his dad Josh is a goalkeeper and hails from Rotherham.
In January 2008 Josh Mimms signed for York City until the end of the season following his release by Liverpool.

Position: Right-back and captain
Date of birth: 6/10/88
Maghull-born Stephen is of slight build but can more than hold his own when up against big strong opposition players. Boasting a good positional sense, he reads the game well and is very clever with his distribution of the ball. Stephen can also play at left back.
Currently captain of the Reserve team, he graduated to Melwood during the summer of 2006 after the best part of a decade at the Academy. The Scouser has yet to earn his senior competitive debut, though did make the bench when Liverpool travelled to the Ataturk to take on Galatasaray in the Champions League group stages in December 2006. Darby impressed greatly in this year’s First Team pre-season friendly games

Ghanaian defender who joined the Reds from Real Zaragoza in the summer of 2005. Tough and uncompromising.
Currently on loan at Tranmere Rovers until January.

ImageJack Hobbs
Position: Centre-back
Date of birth: 18/8/88
Highly-rated defender who joined the Reds from Lincoln City following a successful trial spell at Melwood. Another reserve team regular, he can also play in the centre of midfield. Regarded as a hot prospect.
Currently on loan at Leicester City until the end of the season.

Position: Centre-back
Date of birth: 25/11/88
Operates on the left side of the central defensive partnership, Robbie is an intelligent footballer who hails from the Woolton area of Liverpool. An excellent passer of the ball, he reads the game well and would much prefer to find a team-mate than lump a long ball out of defence.
Threlfall is currently on loan at Hereford United until the end of the season.

IMiki Roque
Position: Centre-back
Date of birth: 8/7/88
Spanish youngster recruited from Lleida before the start of the 2006 campaign. Was highly-regarded as a bright prospect, he can also operate in midfield.
Currently on loan at Cartagena in Spain until the end of the season.

IBen Parsonage
Position: Winger
The only schoolboy member of the Youth team squad in 2006, Ben is a right sided winger.
Ben is currently playing for Osset Town who are currently playing in the Northern Premier League.

ImageRyan Flynn
Position: Centre-midfield
Date of birth: 4/9/88
A central midfield player who can also play out wide, Ryan is from Falkirk and joined the Reds during the summer of 2005. He has a great attitude and is a real hard worker with a good touch.
Flynn graduated from the Academy in the summer of 2006 and is now a regular for the reserves.

Position: Right-midfield
Date of birth: 19/9/88
Hailing from the Everton area of the city, Charlie may be a boyhood Blue but his commitment to the Reds had never been in doubt. A right-sided midfielder he is excellent on the ball, fast and a good dribbler.
Released by the Reds last year, he went for a trial to Tranmere at the beginning of pre-season this Summer and his performances impressed Tranmere’s coaching staff and supporters and he signed a 1 year deal with them. He then scored a winning goal for Tranmere’s First Team in their pre-season friendly against Blackpool. He’s now already played a few games for the Tranmere first team.

Position: Centre-midfield
Date of birth: 6/9/88
Maghull-born Jimmy can boast a good work-rate and strong shot among his many attributes. A never-say-die competitor.
Ryan has been handed a permanent contract by Accrington Stanley after enjoying a successful trial with the club.

Position: Left-midfield
Date of birth: 15/9/87
Signed for the Reds from Manchester City in September 2004. Quickly established himself as a regular in the under-18 side and was soon turning out for the reserves. An exciting and creative player, he’s equally adept at beating defenders or executing a killer pass.
Paul is currently enjoying a successfull spell with Northwich Victoria.

Position: Winger
Date of birth: 25/1/88
A left-winger from Seaforth with great potential, Loves to take on defenders and is also a good crosser of the ball. A regular member of the reserve team squad and a very good prospect.
Currently on loan at Blackpool until January.

ImagePaul Anderson
Position: Winger
Date of birth: 23/7/88
Talented winger who signed for Liverpool from Hull City in a swap deal that saw John Welsh move in the opposite direction. Fast, strong and skilful, he’s made impressive progress since and was named among the substitutes for the first team’s Champions League tie at home to Benfica in 2006.
Currently on loan at Nottingham Forest until the end of the season.

Position: Left-midfield
Date of birth: 4/10/88
A left sided midfielder from Widnes, Michael possesses a really good touch, is capable of whipping in dangerous crosses and can pass the ball well.
Michael left Liverpool and opted to join Bolton. In July 2008, Burns had a trial for Gillingham.

Position: Centre-midfield/striker
Date of birth: 12/3/89
A small central midfielder who can also be used in attack if required, Ryan is from Toxteth and was one of the youngest members of the 2005/06 under-18 squad during the successful 2006 Youth Cup run.
Wignall is playing for AFC Liverpool after a succesful trial.

Position: Striker
Date of birth: 9/5/89
A big, strong, powerful centre forward who can put himself about, Michael is from Torquay and was formerly with Manchester United. An England youth international he signed for Liverpool during the summer of 2005.
He joined West Brom from the Liverpool youth academy on July 29, 2006 after a successful trial.

Date of birth: 21/6/89
Strong and stocky, Jonathan is a striker from the Wirral who can also play in the centre of midfield. He is a talented player who can make things happen.

ImageCraig Lindfield
Position: Striker
Date of birth: 7/9/88
A tall, slim striker from the Wirral, Craig possesses fine aerial ability and has come through the ranks at the Academy.
Lindfield joined League Two outfit AFC Bournemouth on loan until September 20. The Wirral born Academy product had loan spells at Notts County and Chester City last season. He was a key part of the 2006 and 2007 FA Youth Cup winning sides, scoring 12 goals along the way.
