Carra looking at positives

Jamie Carragher is upbeat with Liverpool sitting top of the Premier League table today, despite admitting uncertain form of late.

The Reds’ unconvincing display as they drew 0-0 against West Ham last night at Anfield was enough to take them one point clear at the top of the table, with Chelsea having lost to Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

But critics suggest Rafa Benitez’s side’s indifferent form of late does not show the quality of a Championship winning team.

Carragher suggest otherwise. He says, “Usually when you are not playing well you go down the table. Instead we are going up the league when we are not at our best.

“The positive thing to take is the fact that we have qualified for the next stage of the Champions League and we are top of the Premier League.

“To do that when we are not playing well and going through a rough patch is really positive.

“You are always disappointed when you don’t win your home games, and obviously in the last three games at home we have not played as well as we could.”

Liverpool next face Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Saturday afternoon (3pm).
