Lucas: ‘˜Title still in sight’

Lucas Leiva insists Liverpool are still in the race for the Premier League title, despite throwing away more points last night with a 1-1 draw at Wigan Athletic.

Lucas gave away a late penalty which striker Mido converted to deny Rafa Benitez’s men three points.

The Reds are yet to win in the league during 2009 and now sit two points behind league leaders Manchester United ‘“ who also have a game in hand.

But the Brazilian midfielder says don’t rule them out just yet. He told the BBC, “If we don’t believe, then who will? We believe because we have a good squad and a good manager. Maybe we have to start taking our chances, but unfortunately I conceded a penalty.

“It’s frustrating for everybody, we were maybe two or three points ahead of the other teams at the end of the year.

“Things will change if we work hard but of course we know we are drawing too much and we know we have to win the next game.”
