Liverpool defender Fabio Aurelio has hailed Fernando Torres as the best central striker in the Premier League and says if the Spaniard stays in the form he is, victory tonight against Everton is certain.

Torres scored two late goals to sink Chelsea on Sunday afternoon and secure a vital 2-0 victory for the Reds at Anfield.

With Liverpool at Goodison Park tonight for the third Merseyside Derby in as many weeks, Aurelio is backing Torres to produce the goods and overcome to Toffees to set up an FA Cup fifth round tie against the winner of Aston Villa vs Doncaster.

The Brazilian left-back told Setanta Sports, ‘œFernando’s two goals are great news for us because if he stays at the same level it’s victory guaranteed.

‘œToday Torres is by far the best central striker in The Premier League, and he can score with his head and with both feet.

‘œWhat we try to do at training is the play when I cross the ball for his header. He goes towards his marker and usually it’s goal guaranteed.”

He continued, looking ahead to tonight’s clash, as saying he and his teammates are full of confidence for the trip across Stanley Park.

‘œThe team believe and are determined to win this derby, which is very positive, ahead of such a complicated game.

‘œPlaying Everton is always very hard. It’s like a real final, but we are filled with moral and we are well prepared to beat anyone.

‘œWe are dying to show what we are made of, after those two draws at Anfield. As far as I’m concerned, I experienced huge derbies in an amazing atmosphere in the past, and I can’t wait for this one.

‘œEvery player gives 200 percent of themselves during such games and making our fans happy is our mission.’

Everton vs Liverpool kicks off at 8.10pm tonight and is live on ITV1.
