Fiorentina “anxious” over Red goal machine

Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli has admitted he is anxious ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League encounter with Liverpool after the Reds slotted away nine goals in their last two league games.

A 3-2 victory over West Ham at Upton Park was followed by a 6-1 thrashing of Hull City at Anfield, with Fernando Torres (pictured) bagging five goals in the two games to push his total for the season up to eight.

And with Fiorentina having failed to score in their 1-0 defeat to Lyon in their opening game of the Champions League group stage, Prandelli says he is wary of the Reds’ firepower.

“We’re not going to start already beaten, but all those goals are starting to make me a little anxious,” he said.

Meanwhile Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic has played down claims that he will struggle to play with new striker partner, former Chelsea man Andrian Mutu.

“We don’t have any problem playing together,” Jovetic said. “Mutu is a great champion and I’m just trying to contribute.”

Fiorentina vs Liverpool kicks off at 7.45pm tomorrow night (Tuesday, 29th September) and is live on Sky Sports.
