Lee impressed by Burnley start

Liverpool assistant boss Sammy Lee says he has been impressed by the start Burnley have made to life in the Premier League.

The Reds face the league’s newest team this Saturday at Anfield as they look to get some momentum on their campaign following two victories and two defeats in their opening four games.

But Lee knows the visit of the Clarets won’t be an easy ride.

Burnley‘s start has not been surprising – we know about them and the quality they have,” he told the club’s official web site.

“Owen Coyle has got them working very, very hard for each other and we know they’ll be a difficult proposition when they come to Anfield.

“We’ll be up against a difficult side who are well organised, good on the counter-attack and have proven they can finish chances.

“We’ll be going forward too, so we have to make sure when we do we close the back door and don’t get hit by a counter-attack or a set piece.

“We have to make sure we are focused on the job in hand – we know what we have to do. I know it’s an old cliché, but we’ve got to take it one game at a time and try to get on a roll.”

Liverpool vs Burnley gets underway at 3pm on Saturday, 12th September.
