Liverpool will announce what company will be sponsoring the club from the 2010/11 season in a press conference on September 18th, it was announced today.
The club’s 17 year affiliation with Danish brewers Carlsberg looks set to come to an end with Carlsberg unwilling to meet the Reds’ new price demands.
Reds co-owner George Gillett announced today that he believes supporters will be happy with the new sponsor when it is announced next week.
“I think people will be pleased and surprised. It will be one of the great, worldwide corporations. And I think it will be a sponsor people will be pleased and surprised to be [associated with] Liverpool,” Gillett said.
Some top American insurance companies are the favourites to succeed Carlsberg.
