New £18million midfielder Alberto Aquilani could well get his first taste of action for Liverpool tonight after being named on the bench for Liverpool Reserves against Sunderland Reserves this evening.
The Italian hasn’t kicked a ball in a Reds shirt yet, signing for the club from Roma with an ankle injury.
But after beginning training with the squad last week, Aquilani is almost ready to take the final stage before his first team debut.
John McMahon’s men are looking for their fifth consecutive victory this evening, with kick-off at Tranmere’s Prenton Park, 7pm.
