With Liverpool lingering in seventh place in the Premier League, a full 12 points behind league leaders Chelsea, a victory here at home to Arsenal will certainly be welcome for the Reds’ season.

Rafa Benitez may have a full squad to choose from for the first time this season and Fernando Torres is expected to make his first Premier League appearance for the club since early November.

Arsenal meanwhile sit third in the table, having beaten Stoke City 2-0 last weekend thanks to goals from Andriy Arshavin – who scored four in this fixture back in April – and Aaron Ramsey.

Benitez told press prior to Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Fiorentina at Anfield, “We must try to play a good match against Arsenal, then we will have another game on Wednesday and then on Saturday. So we don’t have too much time to think about them. We must just play and carry on.”

Fans’ group Spirit of Shankly are planning are protest against the club’s owners prior to the match with Tom Hicks expected to be attending the game. More details can be found here.

Kick-off at Anfield on Sunday is 4pm, live on Sky Sports (UK).
