Gerrard, Torres and Benayoun all suffer injury blows

Liverpool’s dismal FA Cup exit at the hands of Reading last night has been compounded by injuries to star attacking trio Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres and Yossi Benayoun.

Torres faces six weeks on the sidelines, Gerrard is out for two weeks, and Benyoun between three and four weeks.

It means all three will be missing for the upcoming crucial League games against Stoke and Tottenham, and Torres will also miss games against Wolves, Bolton, Everton, Arsenal and Man City.

Torres has a torn cartilage in his right knee, Gerrard a hamstring strain and Benayoun a fractured rib.

With no transfer funds available for Rafa Benitez the future looks even bleaker for the rest of the season. Liverpool will now rely on the likes of Dirk Kuyt, David Ngog, Ryan Babel and new signing Maxi Rodriguez to supply their attacking intent.
