Carragher hails Dalglish for Meireles form

Jamie Carragher has given credit to Kenny Dalglish for the recent top form of Portuguese midfielder Raul Meireles.

Meireles scored his fifth goal in six games for Liverpool during the Reds’ 1-1 draw with Wigan in the Premier League on Saturday.

And Carragher says it’s no surprise that Meireles’ recent form has coincided with the return of Kenny Dalglish as manager to the club.

He said, “Obviously he was a Roy Hodgson signing but [scoring goals] is something I think you can give Kenny a pat on the back for.

“Everyone’s feeling good. I don’t like talking about the past or being disrespectful, but things have changed and it looks as if things are getting better. Hopefully Saturday’s result won’t continue in the next few weeks and we’ll get back to winning ways as soon as possible.”
