Carroll injury latest

Kenny Dalglish is urging patience over the return of new £35m striker Andy Carroll from injury, hinting the former Newcastle man could make his Liverpool debut around mid-March.

Carroll is currently out of action with an thigh injury, with many expecting him to be out until after March’s international break.

But Dalglish gave positive news on Carroll’s recovery from the injury.

“He’s progressing very well,” said Dalglish. “We never gave you a date for his return and we won’t. He’s progressing very well and we said it would be several weeks. We signed him for five and a half years, not a few weeks.

“As long as we are patient and Andy is patient then we’ll be okay. We won’t be rushing him back.”
