Reds slump to Hammers defeat

Kenny Dalglish‘s Liverpool honeymoon is over after the Reds suffered defeat to relegation threatened West Ham at Upton Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds found themselves 2 nil behind at the interval after a superb goal from Scott Parker was added to by Demba Ba’s header on the stroke of half-time.

The second half saw a slightly improved performance and when Glen Johnson poked home from close range with five minutes remaining hopes were raised of grabbing a draw.

But Carlton Cole’s late goal secured the win for Avram Grant’s side.

There were few positives for Liverpool who lost Martin Kelly and Raul Meireles through injury. Luis Suarez was the bright light in attack and looked lively whenever the Reds got him in possession.
