Line-up LFC vs Sunderland: Enrique debut as Suarez returns

The new Premier League season gets underway at Anfield this afternoon as Liverpool take on Sunderland at 3pm.

And there’s debuts handed to four of Liverpool’s summer signings with Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing all starting in midfield for the Reds, and new left-back Jose Enrique given the nod ahead of Fabio Aurelio in defence.

There’s also the return of Luis Suarez, who didn’t feature for Liverpool during pre-season due to his commitments for Uruguay at the Copa America.

Dirk Kuyt finds himself on the bench, whilst Raul Meireles also makes the bench after suffering from a recent injury.

John Flanagan starts at right-back for Liverpool, with Glen Johnson currently out injured.
