Gerrard and Suarez available for Spurs clash

Liverpool’s two most influential players, Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez will both return for the visit of Tottenham to Anfield on Monday night.

Gerrard, 31, missed the 3-0 win over Wolves in midweek having played a major role in the two intense Manchester games in the last week.

While Suarez makes his long awaited return after missing the last nine games through suspension.

Kenny Dalglish told LFC TV “Steven will be back in the squad for Monday, so we’re looking quite healthy at the moment – but there are three days of training to go, so more often than not you can pick up something in that.

“But at the moment we look as though we’re okay and have players to choose from. That gives us a problem, but it’s a pleasant one.”

Gerrard has welcomed the return of Uruguayan frontman Suarez “Luis can help us achieve what we set out to achieve – finishing top four and reaching two finals,” said the captain. “I’m sure he will because he’s a super player.”

“Luis has shown over the last 12 months that he’s one of the best players in the world. So we want these players available.

“He has been missed and the players are looking forward to welcoming him back.”

With Gerrard and Suarez back, it will be interesting to see the team Dalglish chooses and who will make way for the two key players.

Did you know? Gerrard, Suarez and Andy Carroll have never started a match together.

Meanwhile, Gerrard is favourite to take over the England captaincy after John Terry was stripped of the armband following his court case for racism towards Anton Ferdinand.
