Today the English media turn their attentions to the Championship play-off final. Crystal Palace play Watford at 3pm at Wembley this sunny Bank Holiday Monday for a lucrative and prestigious place in the Premier League.
You would have thought that would mean they’d be too busy previewing the match that’s potentially worth over £100million to the winning club, than to be making up transfer rumours. But reporting on a match that hasn’t taken place yet just doesn’t shift papers.
The Metro recycle the rumour that Bayern Munich are preparing a £40million bid for Liverpool’s Luis Suarez as they look to build upon their Bundesliga and Champions League winning squad.
However, they report:
The Reds are determined to rebuke offers of up to £40million from the German title winners, who are ready to go head-to-head with Spanish giants Real Madrid to lure the Uruguayan hit-man.
Expect the Suarez exit rumours to continue right up until deadline day in August.
One piece of transfer news today though that isn’t a rumour is the departure of Reds defender Danny Wilson.
The 21-year-old’s contract at Anfield expires this summer and Brendan Rodgers has already indicated the Scot has no future on Merseyside.
Wilson rejoins Hearts on a permanent deal, according to Goal.com, where he spent a loan spell this season.
talKSPORT say Liverpool will likely beat Tottenham and Swansea to signing Sporting Lisbon winger Diego Capel.
The 25-year old Spaniard could be available for around £5million, according to the radio station.
