LFC Line-up vs Preston: Mignolet and Toure start

Simon Mignolet and Kolo Toure make their first starts for Liverpool this afternoon in the Reds’ first pre-season friendly of the summer at Preston.

The Belgian international goalkeeper gets the nod to start in goal for Brendan Rodgers’ men, whilst Toure begins the game in central defence alongside Daniel Agger.

Jay Spearing, thought to be close to a move to Blackburn Rovers, makes what could be his final appearance for Liverpool. Jon Flanagan also begins the game.

There’s also starts for Jordan Henderson, Joe Allen and Oussama Assaidi in midfield. Youngster Jordan Ibe gets a start too, with Philippe Coutinho and Fabio Borini completing attacking options.

Rodgers’ other signings of the summer Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas are on the bench, and should feature later in the game.
