After 40 days and six games without a win, Liverpool picked up three points against Aston Villa at Anfield, courtesy of goals from James Milner and Daniel Sturridge (2).
An entertaining game at Anfield saw the Reds walk away with three points in the bag, but much of the focus was deservedly on Daniel Sturridge.
The 26-year-old, who has missed so much action through injury over the last 12 months, scored two excellent goals to inspire his side to victory.
Liverpool move up to 7th in the table, 2 points behind 4th-place Arsenal.

James Milner scored Liverpool’s other goal, as the pressure is eased ever so slightly on under-fire manager Brendan Rodgers.
Here is how social media reacted to the Anfield showdown:
Sturridge will dominate the headlines but Lucas Leiva was outstanding today. Cool head when the nerves were jangling in the 2nd half.

Party games at half-time. Bit of a stagger from @Robbie9Fowler but he still knows where the net is. pic.twitter.com/7lcTIPCp2F

Shades of 13/14 today in all the good and bad ways. Result the same too, 3 points. #LFC

We will always be better under Rodgers when we put the emphasis on trying to score over trying to not concede. #LFC.

Getting a reminder today that when fit, Daniel Sturridge is an absolutely sensational centre forward.

We have the attacking talent but we need to take a long look at the back starting with our keeper who is causing many of our problems #LFC

Phew! Should have been a bigger margin but Reds well worthy of the win.

Not at full pace yet, but we are SO much more dangerous when Sturridge is in the side. Brilliant player.

Sturridge is awesome. His movement, touch and finishing ability will give this side a cutting edge, whomever the manager.
