Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva this weekend became the first Premier League player to register 50 tackles this season.
While Jose Mourinho may be fuming that he didn’t receive his marching orders on the weekend, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will certainly be delighted at Stamford Bridge, registering five tackles against the Premier League champions.
Not only has Lucas made more tackles than anyone else in the Premier League, but out of the top 10 tacklers, only Southampton‘s Cedric Soares has a better tackles won ratio, at 97.3%.
Out of the top 10 tackles in the Premier League, Lucas has also made less appearances and played less minutes, meaning he wins more tackles per 90 minutes than any of the other players, winning an average of 6.4 tackles per game.
