Following Liverpool’s dire 0-0 draw away to Sion on Thursday evening, we bring you the best social media reaction from during and after the game.
This was genuinely one of the worst games of football you are ever likely to see. It was so bad it actually became laughable.
Jurgen Klopp‘s side topped their Europa League group thanks to their point in Switzerland, but it was a performance lacking any kind of spark.
The display of full debutant Brad Smith was the only real positive to take from the game, but every other player was bordering on anonymous throughout.
For Klopp and his side, attention now turns to Sunday’s Premier League clash at home to West Brom.
Here is how social media reacted to the game:
There was understandable happiness at Jordan Henderson making his first start under Klopp, while fans were also pleased to see Smith make his full debut:
It's great to see Henderson back starting for #LFC. Could thrive more under Klopp than any other player in my opinion.

So here's to you Jordan Henderson…!

It was a boring first-half in Switzerland, and the supporters were left unimpressed:

Is Firmino still trying to find Benteke?

If you're just getting in from the office (as they used to say in the 80s during World Cups) you've missed nothing. Nothing. 0-0, half time.

A classic European trick from Liverpool: quieten the crowd. Quieten the television audiences. Quieten the Twitter followers.

Roberto Firmino‘s performance was particularly anonymous:
I'd bring Firmino on
— Paul Foreman (@redsmicer) December 10, 2015
Firmino been worryingly anonymous. Not got on the ball in any areas to do damage; looked at Klopp then as if he was expected to be subbed

Phil sent on to find Firmino.

The post-match verdicts summed it up:
The best part of that game was Owen's "thin ice" pun in the first half. Seriously.

Should've left the pub after 82', safe in the knowledge that nothing would happen.

Well thank Christ that's over.

I am going to put it out there and say that this is genuinely the worst game of football I have ever witnessed. No joke.

ubermick on the forum:
Well, top of the group. Huzzah. I’d put up a man of the match poll but… erm… let’s just say Brad Smith and be done.
LFC players have these on tonight. Don't blame them but then fans paid money and travelled to watch this muck. pic.twitter.com/kjaju6jEWE

Henderson finally started, Coutinho got 30 minutes, Liverpool rested Moreno, Lucas, Benteke, Allen, Ibe, and Firmino.

A draw gives us the group win.We controlled that from start to finish. another old fashioned European away draw. Doesn't have to be exciting

Two shots on target for #LFC. None for FC Sion. Was pleased to hear the sound of the final whistle
