Liverpool slumped to a 3-1 defeat away to Swansea City on Sunday afternoon, providing scant reward for supporters travelling for the lunchtime kickoff.
Two goals from Andre Ayew and an excellent strike from Jack Cork sealed the three points and Premier League safety for the Swans, with Christian Benteke’s second-half header providing the Reds with a consolation.
Jurgen Klopp named a youthful lineup for the trip to the Liberty Stadium, with the likes of Danny Ward, Pedro Chirivella and Sheyi Ojo all included.
While the German clearly had one eye on Thursday night’s Europa League semi-final second leg at home to Villarreal, supporters were left disappointed with Liverpool’s efforts in south Wales.
Here’s how supporters saw Liverpool’s 3-1 defeat to Swansea.
Naturally, the overriding feeling was of disappointment, with a much-changed side proving too brittle for Francesco Guidolin’s hardworking side…
Lost to a team on the beach who had a stroll in the park. ?

“What a dreadful performance. No composure on the ball, constant miss placed passes while the defence was all over the place and the midfield lacked any control whatsoever.”
– lfc.8 on the forums.
Forget everything about this game, other than the ones who again, again, again were rubbish and mistake-ridden
— Karl Matchett (@karlmatchett) May 1, 2016
That game told us nothing new about who should be picked on Thursday but plenty more about who should still be at LFC next season.

3rd goal summed up our performance. A catalogue of errors from a team going through the motions. A fixture nobody wanted to play, literally.
— Aaron Cutler (@aaron_cutler) May 1, 2016
That was pitiful. The third goal encapsulated the entire performance. Hideous.

Daniel Sturridge came under criticism for his performance, but many defended the striker after he headed for the tunnel immediately after full-time…

At the moment Sturridge would probably get criticised for his attitude if he smiled at a player at full-time. No problem if he’s frustrated.

“Sturridge straight down the tunnel, not exactly endearing himself to the fans at the moment.”

Sturridge was woeful today.

Studge just discovered he's not playing in the biggest game of the season

Sturridge will be hoping to start in Thursday night’s semi-final—a game that serves as supporters’ sole focus from now…
The biggest positive after the game is,NO INJURIES!!!!!!get your vocals ready for Thursday!!Lets bring the house down!

“On to Thursday. Can’t wait for the game!”
– Hope in your heart on the forums.
“I’m confident Klopp will be able to get us moving in the right way next season but this isn’t the important game, three poor results in a row though we have to put that to a stop on Thursday.”
– mattyhurst on the forums.
Now for Thursday, Villareal at home, Europa League semi-final, massive game, big job to do, stronger line-up to put out. And noise to make.
