Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is eyeing up a summer move for Barcelona‘s Aleix Vidal, according to reports in Spain.
A report in Spain says the Reds have a made an ambitious move for the versatile Spaniard.
Vidal has found regular first-team football hard to come by at Camp Nou, since joining from Sevilla last summer, with Dani Alves very much first-choice at right-back.
The 26-year-old is also capable of thriving as a winger, but with Lionel Messi often adopting a right-sided role, it has been nigh-on impossible for him to play there either.
A move to Liverpool does appear unlikely, however, with Alves rumoured to be leaving this summer, and Vidal set to be trusted as his long-term replacement.
In fact, Mundo Deportivo even claims that Barcelona will not allow Vidal to leave for less than his release clause of £45million, which would be a major spanner in the works.
The sources are far from the most trustworthy, and with Nathaniel Clyne thriving at right-back for the Reds, and wide attacking areas fairly well covered, a move would not make a huge amount of sense.
There are more pressing areas of the pitch for Klopp to add quality in, with centre-back, left-back and central midfield all standing out in that respect.
Loris Karius became Liverpool’s first signing of the summer on Tuesday, with the 22-year-old German joining from Mainz for £4.7million.
