Liverpool’s young Spanish midfielder Sergi Canos looks set to move to Championship side Bristol City for £2.5 million this summer.
The 19-year-old winger impressed on a season loan at Brentford last season and is seeking regular first-team football – which Liverpool can’t offer him at the moment.
Because of this, his reported wage demands of £10,000 per week were an issue for the Reds and now the Bristol Post say a fee has been agreed with Bristol City.
Canos, who made his debut for the club as a substitute on the final day of the season against West Brom, is clearly still highly rated at Anfield and for that reason the Reds have put in both a sizeable sell-on clause and a buy-back option.
Canos scored seven goals in 38 appearances for Brentford last season, showing a good attitude and desire to develop as a player.
After his debut in May at West Brom he said: “I’ve had hunger from the first day I came to Liverpool three years ago. I hope I’ll be able to train with the senior squad more in future and show the manager that I can play for Liverpool.”
The Bristol Post say personal terms are yet to be agreed with Canos over a move that would be a new record transfer for the Robins.
