“Mane is the best signing since Suarez” – Supporters react to Liverpool 4-1 Leicester City

Liverpool fans welcomed Anfield’s first game of the season and were celebrating after defeating champions Leicester City 4-1.

It was 122 days since the last game was played at Anfield, and the crowd was the largest for almost 40 years, with the Reds responding by claiming three points against the Foxes.

The last time the two sides met at Anfield it was the big summer signing, Christian Benteke, who sealed a 1-0 victory, but this time around it was £30 million man Sadio Mane who joined Roberto Firmino and Adam Lallana on the scoresheet.

The Senegalese’s strike was sandwiched between two goals from Firmino and a powerful effort from Lallana, with Jamie Vardy’s consolation goal the only blot on the new Anfield’s copybook.

Here’s the best reaction to the victory on social media.

“Whisper it. Mane has been a pretty good signing so far. I’m seriously falling into a bromance with Lallana. Works hard, silky smooth on the ball. Just need to do THAT more often.”

Zia mc nish on the This Is Anfield live blog:
“When Firmino plays in the #10 position he seems to play lot better to me. He is not a striker and should not play as one, especially when we have strikers that are fit.”

“Mignolet has the fear of Karius in him, playing tougher in crowds today for sure, which is good to see.”
