Liverpool supporters were full of praise for Loris Karius and Mohamed Salah among others after Saturday’s 2-0 victory at home to Newcastle United.
The Reds sealed another vital victory at Anfield as their top-four push continues in the Premier League.
Goals from Salah and Sadio Mane, and an excellent save from Loris Karius, were enough to take all three points from the Magpies, who set themselves up to frustrate but did not have enough quality to do so.
Liverpool now face a potentially defining clash with Man United at Old Trafford next Saturday, buoyed by their third consecutive league win.
Here’s how supporters saw the 2-0 triumph on social media.
The Reds’ forward line rightly received vast praise…
Not sure it counts as a win if all of the front three don't score? ?

Salah has now scored more goals in a season for Liverpool than Suarez did.
Only Rush, Hunt, Fowler and Torres are above him (since 1963).

Oxlade-Chamberlain was lauded as he comes of age…

Chamberlain with another fantastic assist for Salah.

Karuis looked like a real No. 1—again!
Had Karius not made the save against Arnautovic last week, it would’ve been a very different game. Same again here; concede before half-time and Newcastle are able to sit back and continue to frustrate. Massive saves & evidence of the improvement he’s made.

Karius' save absolutely massive there. Been crying out for them kind of match winning saves. Been great lately.

“Best save I’ve seen Karius make for us. he’s saved us a few times in the past few weeks.”

Remember when Karius used to have crisp packets for hands?
Great days

Liverpool’s defence were widely praised…
Van Dijk's long-range, pinpoint passes are a thing of beauty.

We also need to give praise to Lovren, since VVD came in he’s been different class #LFC

But Can and Henderson received mixed reviews…

Henderson very influential today. Made several important tackles to break up attacks, drove forward on the ball and passed with loads of tempo.
— Joel Rabinowitz (@joel_archie) March 3, 2018
Henderson is Emre Can playing with one leg! He was ok today nothing else. He did what any other Midfielder has to do if he plays for Liverpool
— jchape (@chape1108) March 3, 2018
Why the hell would Emre Can want to leave what our reds have??? Baffles me! #LFC
— Josh Bullamore (@JoshBully99) March 3, 2018
Overall the Reds were hailed for a crucial win…
Final score @LFC 2 vs NEW 0
Good overall performance. Controlled the game ,2 goals and clean sheet!!
Oxlade better and better !!— Luis Garcia (@luchogarcia14) March 3, 2018
Really solid win that.
LFC have a colossal player in Virgil van Dijk. He’ll make the odd mistake in the coming years because he’s human, but he’s world class. Joy to watch him at Anfield today.
— Henry Jackson (@HenryJackson87) March 3, 2018
A very solid and comfortable display from #LFC to get the 3pts ???
— Neil Mellor (@NeilMellor33) March 3, 2018
#LFC definitely turned a corner the past few weeks. A calmness and control over games not seen before under Klopp, long may it continue. Up the reds! ??
— Jase Griff (@tamaman76) March 3, 2018
The flying reds keep on winning, comfortable win and a good all round performance I thought, love @Alex_OxChambo interviews, very well spoken with another great performance also #thereds #lfc

Liverpool go second. United need to win to knock us into 3rd. And thankfully, that terrible decision at the end didn't matter. Red card and free kick.
I'll take those three points.
— Gareth Williams (@Shakacarnage) March 3, 2018
Yet another patient and resolved performance from Liverpool. The maturity of the squad is growing game by game and it’s imperative against the likes of Newcastle. A big week now awaits…
