Liverpool put the finishing touches on their pre-season preparations with a 3-1 win over Torino in the first outing at Anfield in over 86 days.

Less than a week out from the season opener the Reds headed into the clash brimming with confidence as they looked to close the curtains on their summer with a seventh victory from nine games.

The encounter against the Serie A side offered the home faithful the opportunity to lay eyes on the team, who many believe will be title contenders, for the first time this season.

The Reds wasted little time asserting their dominance with the usual suspect in Roberto Firmino opening the scoring in his second 45-minute stint of the summer, with Gini Wijnaldum quickly doubling the lead in what was his second goal in as many games.
