Liverpool take on Chelsea in Istanbul tonight (8pm kickoff BST), to contest the UEFA Super Cup. Here’s how to watch live online and on TV around the world.
Five days after the start of their Premier League campaign, the Reds are back in Europe, taking on last season’s Europa League winners.
This clash between continental champions is, perhaps rightly, being treated as something of an afterthought back in England, but for Jurgen Klopp and Frank Lampard, silverware will be the goal in Turkey.
The two managers experienced contrasting fortunes at the start of the domestic calendar, as Liverpool thrashed Norwich 4-1 at Anfield, while Chelsea suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat at the hands of Man United on Sunday; a major setback less than 72 hours before kickoff at Besiktas Park.
Both are forced to contend with big-name injuries, too, with the absence of Alisson leaving Klopp to turn to newly arrived backup goalkeeper Adrian between the sticks.
Starting the season with a trophy lift would certainly be symbolic for the Reds, if nothing else, and they will be desperate to do so after 90 minutes – and perhaps penalties – in Istanbul.
