Liverpool overcame non-League Mansfield courtesy of goals from new signing Daniel Sturridge and top scorer Luis Suarez.

Sturridge took just seven minutes to claim his first goal since his £12m arrival from Chelsea, while Suarez scored a controversial goal after the ball hit his arm in the process.

Matt Green’s goal with 10 minutes remaining halved the deficit but Liverpool held on to set up a Fourth Round tie with Oldham Athletic.
