Coutinho, Can and Firmino lead the Liverpool squad valuations

Jurgen Klopp‘s current Liverpool squad is valued at £363.34 million, according to CIES Football Observatory calculations.

The International Centre for Sports Studies, which is situated in Switzerland, has a correlation of just under 80 per cent over the last three years, on transfer fees paid in Europe’s top five leagues.

The findings that CIES have made are based on transfers since 2010, and takes into account a player’s position, age, international status, contract and performance.

Once calculated, a player’s value is determined.

Philippe Coutinho is, perhaps unsurprisingly, Liverpool’s most valuable squad member, with the Brazilian valued at £40.95 million.

The ever-improving Emre Can is second (£30.93m) while Roberto Firmino (£29.83m) is third, following an impressive debut season with the Reds. That is almost exactly what Liverpool paid for him last summer.

Surprisingly, Jordon Ibe is fourth (£23.73m) despite a below-par campaign, while Alberto Moreno (£19.81) makes up the top five, which may again surprise a few.

Of course, it is the fact that Ibe and Moreno remain young players, and still have years ahead of them to reach their potential.

Christian Benteke’s forgettable 2015/16 is highlighted by his current value (£18.25m), with the Belgian now worth almost half of the £32.5million Liverpool paid Aston Villa for his services a year ago.

Daniel Sturridge‘s value of £12.14million is mainly due to his recent injury woes – if he was to stay fit, he would cost at least doubt that figure – while Connor Randall is the lowest-rated current Liverpool player, at £2.35million.
