Keeper should be fit for Saturday

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech is struggling with a leg injury picked up in the Blues’ 3-0 victory over Everton on Monday, but insists he will be fit to start this Saturday’s FA Cup clash at Old Trafford against Liverpool.

Cech was forced out of Monday’s game with a big gash to his leg which required nine stitches, but the Czech goalkeeper says he should be fit to face the Reds.

He revealed that his initial reaction to the injury was that his leg was broken. He said, “There is nothing serious so it is good news. Everyone is positive and I think I’ll be ready for the next game.

“I went for the ball, felt the pain and at first I thought my leg was broken. But fortunately after that I was able to stand up. I thought I’d try and stay until the end of the first-half, but it was a good decision to go off in the end.”
