Cisse commits future to Reds

Djibril Cisse has rubbished speculation linking him with a move away from Anfield, insisting he is settled and happy at Liverpool and won’t be going anywhere this summer.

Reports all season have suggested that manager Rafael Benitez is set to offload the French striker this summer amid poor form, with Tottenham and Marseille said to be interested.

But Cisse, who has scored 18 goals this season and could start in Saturday’s FA Cup final, says his heart is at Liverpool.

He says, “My future is already settled. I still have three years remaining on my contract at Liverpool, and my future, before anything, I imagine it will be here.

“Liverpool didn’t want me to leave last winter and people have understood it. Tottenham showed interest too and Liverpool refused once again.

“I have stayed and fought and I have took it on. I didn’t want to leave after one year, that would have really been a failure.”
