Blackburn Rovers midfielder Robbie Savage has expressed his disappointment at the sale of striker Craig Bellamy to Liverpool, saying that finding his replacement will be difficult.
Bellamy signed for the Reds on a £6million transfer last week, signing a 4-year contract at Anfield.
Bellamy’s Wales international teammate Savage says, “Losing Craig is a massive blow. The bottom line is you can’t really replace a player like Craig Bellamy, even for £6 million.
“We need to try to find someone with similar pace but that’s going to be difficult. There aren’t many players like Craig out there. We need to bring in three new strikers as soon as possible.
“The boss will be working as hard as he can to make that happen. But the good thing is that the gaffer has done brilliantly in the transfer market in the past and I’m sure he will do the same again.”
