Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler has welcomed the summer signing of Welsh international forward Craig Bellamy, hailing him as a ‘œvery, very good player’.
Fowler linked up well with Bellamy during Liverpool’s first pre-season friendly of the new season, setting the former Blackburn Rovers striker up for a goal on his debut during the 2-0 victory over Wrexham at the Racecourse Ground.
After the game, Fowler told reporters, “I thought Craig was a good player at Newcastle. Now he has come to a massive club and only time will tell how he does. But from first impressions he is a very, very good player in training and he scored a very, very good goal here.”
